The best way to travel depends on your preferences and, of course, your destination. If you live in Europe, want to go to USA and love to travel by train… well, you only get to travel by train once you actually get there. So, your choice is boat or plane. By boat you probably take about 10 days and by plane about 10 hours. If you love looking at the sea and have lots of time, you could consider the boat option, why not? Cruises are fluctuating cities, so you would have everything you would need.
Nowadays, everyone has little time for anything (or so people think), so travel by plane is the easiest and faster way of travelling. Is it? Consider this:
. besides the flight hours you have to add the number of hours before and after the flight in order to check in and fetch the luggage – an additional 3 hours at best;
. you arrive at the airport, then go somewhere to dispatch your luggage, then walk through security, then you have to find the gate, show your passport and board the plane… get off the plane, show your passport, claim the luggage and finally leave the airport…
To get the train, you only have to arrive like 15 minutes before departure and put luggage in the correct place within the train. Looks easier and faster to me. Unless you’re in Europe and want to travel to China… But you get the idea. Plus, by train you have the chance to actually sightseeing… although by plane you have the chance to see land from above, which it’s pretty amazing too.
Travel by car could also be a good choice. You can decide your route, make a detour whenever you want and stop anytime you feel like. On the other hand, you have to find and pay for a lot of petrol, park the car and be aware of car thieves.
